We're Expanding our Board and Adding Advisors

By Justin Davis

I’m thrilled to share that Spectrum Labs is adding new leaders, one to our board of directors and two advisors. As we work toward our vision of making the Internet a safer and more valuable place for all, it is important that we bring people in who are passionate about the same things we are; diversity, trust in data safety and privacy, and security covering Trust & Safety efforts.

At Spectrum Labs, we know that to effectively make the Internet a safer and more valuable place for all, we must incorporate the lived experience of diverse groups and surround ourselves with those with vast experience in the field across various vantage points.

First, I’m proud to share the appointment of Lakshmi Hanspal to Spectrum Labs’ Board of Directors. Lakshmi is the Chief Security Officer at Box, where she is responsible for building trusted products, and operating trusted environments across customer, corporate, physical, and cybersecurity domains. With more than 25 years of experience, she is a proven, customer-focused global leader in both the security and privacy space. Lakshmi helps innovative mission-based organizations and nonprofits grow while serving on their Advisory Boards and Boards of Directors. She brings experience building and scaling platforms and consumer engagements at some of the best-known brands. She is also passionate about engaging and promoting women in technology and developing diverse talent within teams.

I’m also honored to welcome two advisors, who together bring a deep understanding of the trust & safety space, policy, and high-growth startups.

Megan Cristina is the Chief Privacy Officer at Slack, where she built and scaled the privacy, data governance, and trust programs over the last five years. She has over twenty years of experience that spans a variety of privacy, trust, safety, compliance, and operational roles supporting hyper-growth startups and large enterprises. Prior to Slack, Megan spent time at both Yahoo! and Twitter leading and scaling teams that helped create trusted and safe experiences across a range of products and services.

Lisa Thee leads Launch Consulting's Data for Good practice, helping the world's most innovative healthcare, technology, and gaming companies to improve digital safety, anti-toxicity, and apply AI/machine learning for innovation. She is the Co-Author of Demystifying Artificial Intelligence for the Enterprise and Navigating Forward podcast host. Lisa also currently serves as an advisory board member for Engineered Medical Solutions, Humaxa, Marketplace Risk, and Orchestrated Intelligence.

Please join me in welcoming Lakshmi, Megan, and Lisa to the Spectrum Labs family as we continue our mission to use the power of data and community to rebuild trust in the Internet, making it a safer and more valuable place for all.
